Her realistic still life and figurative paintings explore the ways that objects and moments can be instilled in memory. Inspired by found objects and vintage story book illustrations, her paintings evoke a sense of eerie nostalgia, of moments lost and found again.

Penelope was awarded the Cliftons Art Prize in 2014, and has been a finalist in various prizes including the Shirley Hannan Portrait Prize (2014), and the Yen Female Art Award (2016, 2014).
