JASMINE MANSBRIDGE

Jasmine Mansbridge says of her work - I have poured myself into this new body of work and it is always an emotional thing to come to the end of a process in which I invest so much energy. As the title suggests the exhibition started with an idea in which I could talk about growth, change and metamorphosis and somehow visually represent all the ways this can happen.

I could never have predicted that in the time between starting the paintings until now (roughly six months), so many things would change on a large scale with the impact of the Australian bushfires etc.. and then on a global level with the coronavirus now affecting so many people’s plans and livelihood’s. My own personal life has also seen significant shifts, challenges and opportunities, all which are forcing me to expand and learn more about myself and my place in the world.
